How to Open Chase Business Checking Accounts

To open a business checking account, Chase will require the following documents:

  • Two forms of ID, such as a driver's license and passport
  • Tax ID Number: Employer ID or Social Security Number
  • Business information, such as address and phone numbers
  • Business name filing document or a business license
  • Partnership agreement (for partnerships)
  • Articles of organization (for LLCs)
  • Articles of incorporation (for corporations)

Sole proprietors can usually open business accounts online and get approval. In cases of LLC, partnership, or corporation, you and any partner or members will need to be present and sit down with a banker in person.

Chase may run a soft credit inquiry, which will not affect your credit score. Most banks also run your banking history through the ChexSystem. So if you have had overdrafts or other bad marks, that may affect your ability to open an account.

Bottom Line

Chase is a good option if you're looking a huge national bank with a variety of business banking products. The Chase Total Checking has great account features for small and growing businesses. Take note of the transaction and deposit limits, and the minimum balance to waive the account fee.
