How to Change Your Chase Password

How to Change Your Chase Password

You don't need to go to a physical branch to update your password. Chase Bank lets you quickly change your login information via Chase.com or the mobile app.

Update password on desktop

Here's how to update your login on Chase.com:

  1. Log in to Chase.com
  2. Click the Person Icon (top right of the home page)
  3. Select "Profile & Settings"
  4. Go to "Overview"
  5. Select "Sign-in & security" to update your username or password
  6. Enter your current password and new password
  7. Click "Save" to apply changes

Update Password on Chase Mobile App

Here's how to update your login on the mobile app:

  1. Sign into the Chase Mobile App
  2. Click the Person Icon (top right of screen)
  3. Select "Profile & Settings"
  4. Go to "Settings" (right side of screen)
  5. Go to "Sign-in preferences"
  6. Edit username/password or Touch ID
  7. Click "Save" to apply changes

The Chase mobile app offers a ton of features. You can check your balance, deposit checks, pay bills, make transfers between accounts and more.

Password Requirements

Chase has a few security requirements for updating your username and password.

  • At least 8 characters
  • At least 2 of the following:
    1. 1 letter (case sensitive)
    2. 1 number
    3. 1 of these special characters: @ ! # $ % + / = ~
  • No more than 2 identical or sequential characters (ex: 111, aaa, 123, abc, !!!)
  • Must be different from your previous five passwords
  • Must not match your User ID
  • Must not use the name of the financial institution (ex: JPM, MORGAN, CHASE)
  • Must not be a commonly used password (ex: password1)
