USAA Routing Number
USAA only has one routing number: 314074269. Learn what you need it for and other ways to transfer money.
PRO TIP: Are you trying to send money internationally? The quickest and cheapest way to send money internationally is to use a money transfer service, such as Wise, Remitly or Xe.
A routing number, also known as a Routing Transit Number (RTN) or American Bankers Association (ABA) Number, is a 9-digit number that serves as identification for financial institutions. It's most commonly used for bank wire transfers.
For USAA, 314074269 is the bank identifier code.[1] Read on to learn more about how to find your routing number and how to send wire transfers with USAA.
USAA Bank Routing Number
USAA Federal Savings Bank (FSB) ABA Transit number or routing number is 314074269.
Unlike other banks, USAA Bank only has one routing number. This is regardless of what state you're located in or where you opened your bank account.
USAA Routing Numbers For Wire Transfers
The information you need will depend on what type of wire transfer you want to make. Here's what you need for domestic and international wires:
Domestic wires
To receive a domestic wire transfer, use routing number 314074269. Aside from your account number, name, and address, you'll need to provide the sender with the following information:[2]
- Bank name: USAA Federal Savings Bank
- Bank address: 10750 McDermott Freeway, San Antonio, TX 78288
International wires
To receive an international wire transfer into your USAA bank account, use the SWIFT Code of the intermediary bank (The Bank of New York Mellon): IRVTUS3NXXX. You'll need to provide the sender with the following information:[3]
- SWIFT code: IRVTUS3NXXX
Bank name: The Bank of New York Mellon
Bank address: 225 Liberty St. New York, NY 10286 - Recipient account number: 8900624744
Recipient name: USAA Federal Savings Bank
Recipient address: 10750 McDermott Freeway, San Antonio, TX 78288 - Final credit account: USAA checking or savings account number
Final recipient name: Full name of the USAA account holder
SWIFT codes are international counterparts of US routing numbers. They serve as identifiers, making sure that your money gets sent to the correct bank when you're sending it internationally.
Cheaper and Faster Way to Send Money Internationally
The quickest and cheapest way to send money internationally is to use a money transfer service (instead of USAA).
How to Find Your Routing Number
To make wire transfers, you'll need your account number and your routing number. Here are a few ways to find both:
- Use a check
Your routing number is the first 9 digits in the lower left-hand corner of every check. The leftmost number is your routing number, and directly to its right is your account number. - Go online
You can also find your USAA routing number when you log in to usaa.com. After logging in, select the corresponding account, and this should show your details. - Use the mobile app
In the app's Banking section, Select your account > My Account. There you'll find both your routing number and account number. Note that your USAA number is not the same as your account number.[4] - Call customer service
If you don't have access to online checking or a check handy, you can call USAA Customer Support at 210-531-USAA (8722) or 800-531-USAA (8722).[5]
How to Send a Wire Transfer
To send a wire transfer with USAA, log into your account, then select My Account > Move Money > Wire Transfers. If you need to send an international wire transfer or any amount over $10,000, you'll need to call customer support.
For a smooth transfer, be ready with the following information:
- Recipient's full name
- Recipient's bank account number
- Recipient's bank transit routing number
- Recipient bank's SWIFT Code (for international transfers)
- Name and address/ZIP code of the receiving bank
Just note that the cut-off time for wire transfers is 4:00 PM (CT) for domestic wires and 3:30 PM for international wires, Mondays to Fridays (excluding federal holidays).
As for costs, domestic wire transfers will cost you $20. International wire transfers will cost you $20 for USAA or $25 for correspondent banks.
Other Ways to Transfer Money with USAA
USAA Bank offers a handful of online banking solutions that can suit your needs (without the need for routing numbers). Aside from the conventional wire transfer, here are a few alternative options for money transfers:[6]
- Send money with Zelle
Using the Zelle feature in the mobile app, you can easily send and receive money from friends with a US bank account via email address or mobile number. All you need to do is log on to the mobile app, select Zelle, and enroll your email or US mobile number to begin.
