Study: Best Cities to Find Single Rich Women
In recent years, women have edged their way into breadwinning status. Nearly 40% of women have a higher income than their husbands, according to a 2013 Pew Research Center report. While money isn't everything – certainly not when finding a mate – the extra dollars sure would be nice. For men who are looking for a woman with high-earning potential, there are certain places they should look.
In our latest study, CreditDonkey.com sought the best cities to find single rich women (for the best cities to find single rich men, click here).
Study Methodology
We began with a pool of major metropolitan areas that have over 1 million residents, and considered the following factors:
- Percentage of single women
- Ratio of single women to single men
- Percentage of all women earning $100,000 or more per year
- Mean income of all women
Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, we pulled the percentage of the residents who are single women, including those who are divorced and widowed. A large selection of ladies on their own increases your odds of finding your dream woman. We also considered the ratio of single women to single men. Even though a little competition can be fun, too many single men compared to single women makes it tougher to lure the ladies.
Then, we used the U.S. Census to find the percentage of women in those areas who make at least $100,000 annually, and we isolated the average income of all women in a given area. We added this metric because the average income for women is relatively low compared to men, partly because they do make less and also a higher proportion do not work full time. With those factors pulling down the average in some cities to below what could be considered “rich,” we thought it was important to include the percentage of women earning over $100,000. Both figures tell us whether women – single or not – earn good wages in their home cities.
Cities scoring high in all four factors are likely good places to find single rich women.
