Other Ways to Use Your Points

Amazon
You can link your Hilton Honors account to your Amazon account to use your points like cash when shopping.

Every time you check out on Amazon, you'll have the option of using Hilton points to pay for your Amazon purchase.

Each Hilton point is worth $0.2 cents. That's not a great redemption rate, so consider putting your points to other use if possible.

Charitable Giving
You can donate your Hilton Honors points to a good cause. The company has partnered with PointWorthy.com to give members the ability to donate points.

Create a PointWorthy.com account, add your Hilton Honors account information, and choose from the available charities. Hilton converts each point you donate into a cash equivalent and makes the donation to that charity.

How to Redeem Your Points

Hilton Honors points can be redeemed in several ways. Keep reading to learn more.

Search for a room on the Hilton website and click the box Use Hilton Honors Points to redeem points for a hotel stays. Choose the hotel and room that works best for you and complete your reservation.

Upgrade a Reservation
Use can also use your Hilton points to upgrade an existing reservation. From your Hilton Honors account, click on Current Reservations and see if it qualifies for an upgrade.

Partial Hotel Stay
The points and money program lets you use a combination of points and money to book hotel rooms. Here are the steps you'll take:

  1. Determine how many points you want to use
  2. Use the slider function online and set it at your chosen point value
  3. Reveal how much money you need to make up the value that the points won't cover
  4. Book the reservation using partial points and cash

This is a great option if you don't have enough points to cover a full stay. Or, perhaps you want to save some of your points for the future. But this option isn't available at every property.

Bottom Line

The Hilton Honors program allows you to turn your points into travel, experiences, and gifts for you or others.

Exchanging your points for free nights at Hilton properties is the most popular option and best value for your points, especially when redeeming for stays around 20,000 points a night.

Additionally, you could donate your points or transfer them to a travel partner of Hilton, such as American Airlines. The flexibility with Hilton Honors points redemption grants you the option to do what's best for your lifestyle.
