Which Citi Credit Card is Good?

Rewards, benefits, interest rates and fees from published websites as of 12/22/2015.

I want to earn cash back twice and pay no annual fee

Citi Cash Back Credit Card: Citi Double Cash Card
With the Citi Double Cash card, you'll earn cash back twice on every purchase: 1% cash back when you buy, and another 1% cash back as you pay for your purchase. Plus, there are no rotating categories you have to enroll in and no limits on the amount of cash back that you can earn.

Keep in mind, cash back will expire if you have not earned any cash back from purchases or payments for 12 months, so make sure you use the card regularly.

I want rewards with no annual fee

Citi Rewards Credit Card: Citi ThankYou Preferred Card
If you’re looking for an all-purpose rewards credit card, the Citi ThankYou Preferred Card, with its simple rewards structure and generous introductory offer, is a great option. You’ll earn a minimum of 1 point for every dollar you spend with the card, and double points on dining and entertainment purchases.

New cardholders earn a bonus of 20,000 points if they spend $1,500 with the card within 3 months of opening the account. That’s enough to redeem for up to $200 in gift cards or other rewards. Points have no expiration date and there’s no limit to how many you can earn. There is no annual fee.

I plan to carry a balance and I hate late fees, penalty fees, and annual fees

Citi Balance Transfer Card: Citi Simplicity Card
The Citi Simplicity Card has no annual fee, no late fees, no penalty fees, and an introductory interest rate of 0% on balance transfers and purchases for your first 21 months as a cardholder. After that, the variable APR will be 13.24% - 23.24% based on your creditworthiness.

It’s a great choice for anyone looking to make some big purchases that they’ll need time to pay off, or even to cut down their debt load by transferring their balance to a lower-interest card. You won’t be able to earn any rewards points or cash back on purchases made with this card, but the money you’ll save on interest payments should more than make up for any rewards you could have accumulated elsewhere.

I'm a college student and I want rewards with no annual fee

Citi Student Credit Card: Citi ThankYou Preferred Card for College Students
For college students wanting to build their credit history, the Citi Thank You Student Card is a good bet. You get 2 ThankYou points per dollar spent on purchases at restaurants and entertainment, and 1 ThankYou point on other purchases. The points can be redeemed for a variety of things including merchandise, gift cards, and travel rewards. There's no annual fee.

New cardholders earn 2,500 bonus points after spending $500 within the first 3 months of membership.

As with choosing any credit card, deciding which Citi card is best for you requires research and a complete understanding of the pros and cons associated with each card. We hope this list provides you with a head start on your credit card comparison shopping.
