The Walking Dead is one of AMC's most popular series. You can watch the latest season online through these TV providers.

Like most channels, AMC lets you watch The Walking Dead on its official site and mobile app. But, you'll need to have a TV provider account to use this service.

You can watch a live stream of the AMC channel on their website.

Their app doesn't have live stream, but features full episodes on demand, including episodes of The Walking Dead. The latest episodes are available a day after it airs on TV (for a limited time).

The AMC app is compatible with Android and iOS phones. All you need to do is install and log in.

Other episodes or previous seasons are also available on demand, depending on whether it's in season. Sometimes AMC offers seasonal catch-up periods so you can watch older seasons and episodes.

You can also upgrade your TV subscription to AMC Premiere. The upgrade lets you enjoy shows on AMC without ads. You also get access to your favorite shows on demand, plus special content like exclusive extended episodes, bonus scenes, sneak peeks, uncut movies, and more.

For fans of The Walking Dead, AMC Premiere offers additional bonus content. You'll get special behind-the-scenes content and unaired scenes from the series. However, you'd have to subscribe to a TV provider with AMC in your package to get the upgrade.

If you're interested in subscribing to a TV provider, here are some which offer the AMC channel:

DIRECTV

DIRECTV is one of the accepted TV providers for the AMC channel site and app. You can use it to log on and watch The Walking Dead.

DIRECTV has the AMC channel in all their packages. If you just want The Walking Dead, then you only need the "Select" package, which is the cheapest. You'll also get other channels in "Select" like FXX and Viceland.

If you're a fan of football, then DIRECTV is a no-brainer. It has the NFL SUNDAY TICKET, which lets you watch all out-of-market games every Sunday.

Check out Best Ways to Watch NFL Network's Live Stream for more ways to stream NFL content.

With DIRECTV, you can also skip the official AMC sites and app if you want. DIRECTV has its own app. You can use it to stream the AMC channel on your smart devices and TV.

The app even lets you stream your DVR recordings. If you can't catch the live broadcast of The Walking Dead, you can just save it on your DVR for later.

DISH

DISH is also accepted by the AMC site and app. Just log in with your DISH account details, and you can catch the live stream or on demand selection.

For general entertainment channels, DISH is a great TV provider. Monthly fees are locked in for two years, and they also have one of the best DVRs around.

Their Hopper DVR can record up to 16 shows at once and has over 500 HD hours of storage. You can record the whole season of The Walking Dead and other TV shows without ever running out of space.

DISH offers AMC in all their packages. To catch The Walking Dead, all you need is their lowest "America's Top 120" package. You'll also get other channels like the USA channel, the Disney Channel, HGTV, and Bravo. They even have sports channels like ESPN and Fox Sports.

Like DIRECTV, DISH also has its own app - DISH Anywhere. It streams channels to your devices and lets you watch your DVR recordings (online and offline). This is great if you can't make the live broadcast of The Walking Dead.

If you don't really care for sports, DISH has a great DVR and variety of channels. Their "America's Top 120" package offers more than 190 channels. They've also got a great DVR which adds to the TV experience.

However, if you want to cut the cord or want to watch The Walking Dead less expensively, consider these over-the-top providers.

ONLINE TV PROVIDERS

Sometimes, you just want to cut the cord and not have to deal with contracts or expensive monthly fees. Here are some online TV providers that let you stream The Walking Dead online.

SLING TV

Sling TV is one of the cheapest options on this list. They offer the AMC channel in either their Sling Orange or Sling Blue packages.

If you just want to watch The Walking Dead, then choose the package that has more of your favorite channels. They both cost the same, so it boils down to your preference.

Sling Orange has the ESPN and Disney channels. Sling Blue has Fox Sports and Bravo. For a more detailed channel list, check their official website here.

Regardless of your package, there are no contracts, and you can stop your service anytime. There are no equipment or installation fees either, so you can be flexible with your subscription.

If you'd like a bit more channel surfing, you can get the Sling Orange + Blue package. This allows you to have up to four streams at a time, as well as additional channels.

Sling TV has a Cloud DVR, with 50 hours of storage. It works with Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, PCs, and smartphones.

PHILO

If you just want to catch The Walking Dead and nothing else, Philo is the cheapest option among TV providers.

Philo is the skinniest of the skinny bundles. They only have two packages: the main package, which has 40 channels, and their upgraded package, which has 49 channels.

To watch The Walking Dead, you won't need the upgrade. The AMC channel is already in the main package.

To subscribe, you'll need a mobile phone number (for identification), an internet connection, and a supported device. Philo currently supports:

  • Web browsers (Mac and PC)
  • iPhones and iPads
  • Android devices
  • Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV

For its price, Philo has decent Cloud DVR service. You have unlimited storage for 30 days. You won't get to record the whole season and binge after, but it's enough if you can't make the live broadcast.

Philo offers three streams per account. Like other online TV providers, you can start and stop your service anytime. It's perfect for those who just want to watch The Walking Dead.

NETFLIX

Netflix won't have the latest season of The Walking Dead, but it has all the past seasons. If you're new to The Walking Dead, or want to catch up before the premiere of the latest season, Netflix is one of the best options.

Netflix works on almost every smart device out there. This includes gaming consoles, smart TVs, streaming devices, and every iOS and Android mobile phone.

Like other over-the-top providers, there's no contract and no installation. You can start (and stop) the service anytime. For fans of The Walking Dead, you can simply subscribe, binge watch all past seasons, and unsubscribe once you're done.

If you're looking to just catch-up on past seasons or want to have a library of The Walking Dead, Netflix is a great choice.

PLAYSTATION VUE

The PlayStation Vue is another over-the-top TV service provider. The AMC channel is included in all its packages, including its cheapest "Access" package. If you just want The Walking Dead, you don't need the other packages.

Access also has more than 45 other channels. You'll get channels like BBC America and The Travel Channel along with it, which is a nice bonus.

The PlayStation Vue is available on iOS, Android, Roku, and Fire TV. However, since it is a PlayStation product, you won't find it on rival systems like the Xbox One.

Like Philo, the PlayStation Vue has unlimited DVR. However, they only store your recordings for 28 days. Again, you won't be able to record and binge watch the entire season, but it's good enough to record that episode you missed.

PlayStation Vue isn't the cheapest TV provider on the list, but it has a good quality broadcast featuring 60 frames per second. If you want great video quality, PlayStation Vue might be for you.

DIRECTV NOW

DIRECTV Now is DIRECTV's version of a streaming TV service. Unlike its parent company, DIRECTV is similar to other online TV providers. There's no contract and no installation fees. You can start and stop the service anytime.

DIRECTV NOW has the AMC channel in all their packages. Fans of The Walking Dead can just subscribe to their cheapest "Live a Little" package. Other channels in this package include Bravo, HGTV, SyFy, as well as 65+ other channels.

DIRECTV NOW is compatible with the PC, smartphones, smart TVs, as well as streaming devices like Roku and Chromecast.

YOUTUBE TV

YouTube TV is a relatively new service, which is available only in select markets.

YouTube TV is also available on most smart devices. This includes smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TV, streaming box, and even the Xbox One console. They also allow you three streams per account at the same time.

AMAZON VIDEO

For those who really just want to watch The Walking Dead, Amazon Video is the cheapest option on this list. For a one-time purchase, you can buy a TV pass for the latest season of the show.

The latest episodes become available in your library a day after it airs on AMC. It's the cheapest option, since you only need to pay once.

If you want to catch past seasons of The Walking Dead, you can get it here too. They offer all the previous seasons, a la carte. You can choose to buy the entire season or single episodes.

BOTTOM LINE

If you just want to watch The Walking Dead, the cheapest option would be to just buy a TV pass on Amazon Video. You'll be able to catch the latest episode of The Walking Dead a day after it airs on AMC.

However, if you're thinking of subscribing to a TV provider, the next cheapest options are Philo and Sling TV. These give you the AMC channel as well as a bunch of other channels. You can have a TV experience without being locked in a contract with expensive monthly fees.

For the complete TV experience, you can choose between DISH or DIRECTV. Both offer the AMC channel, although DISH is the slightly better option. The prices are locked in for two years, and they have a better DVR system. You can also stream the show online via their mobile app.

At the end of the day, your budget will be the deciding factor. For the cheapest provider, go with Amazon Video. For the best TV experience, go with DISH or DIRECTV.
