$89 - Waived first year

The Arrival Plus competes with Capital One Venture and Chase Sapphire Preferred in the lucrative travel credit card market.

What we like about it: The Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard is Barclaycard's premier travel rewards card and with good reason. Not only do you always get double miles on every purchase, but you'll get 5% of your miles back toward your next redemption every time you redeem the miles.

On top of that, there's a 50,000 mile bonus for new account holders who charge $3,000 or more in the first 90 days. That's enough for a $500 credit towards your next trip.

The downsides: As far as annual fees go, the Arrival Plus card has one of the higher ones, at $89. You won't have to pay it the first year, though, so that gives you time to check the card out. If you decide to keep it, you'll have to make sure you're earning enough rewards each year to make it worth the cost.

Who should use it: Anyone who likes scoring free travel but doesn't want the hassle of managing rotating bonus categories or keeping up with tiered rewards categories will appreciate the simplicity of the Arrival Plus.

Low Interest Card: Barclaycard Ring Mastercard

Paying your card in full each month is a good way to dodge interest charges, but it's not always feasible. The Barclaycard Ring is worth considering if you're not always able to zero out your balance each month.

What we like about it: This credit card has no balance transfer fees.

It comes with rewards, too, but the reward structure is far from typical: The card’s Giveback profit-sharing program allows cardholders to determine rewards rates based on how well the card is doing financially. That means you won’t necessarily know exactly what rewards you’ll earn, but you’ll get a say in the card’s policies and how it’s run.

The downsides: If you want to be able to calculate exactly what kind of rewards you're going to earn for your purchases, this isn't the card for you. There's a specific formula Barclaycard uses to determine what percentage each card member is entitled to, but there's no way to predict how big your slice of the pie is going to be.

Who should use it: The Ring Mastercard is great if you have credit card debt to transfer, since there are no balance transfer fees. Card members also have the opportunity to vote on card features and share ideas through the Barclaycard Ring community.

Each of the Barclaycard cards we've mentioned is unique in its own way, but choosing the right one shouldn’t be a shot in the dark. Take a look at your spending patterns and ask yourself what you value most in a card. Then you can narrow down the field to the one that's your match.
