Which Wells Fargo Deal Is Right for You?

To pick the right card for you, consider the following factors:

  • Your financial goal: If you would like cashback rewards, look into the Cash Wise Visa. If paying down debt is your biggest priority, the Platinum Card has the longest intro APR length. But it has no rewards.

  • Intro APR: The Wells Fargo cards below all offer an introductory APR period for purchases and balance transfers. If you need time to pay off some debt or large purchases, be sure to choose the card with an intro APR term right for you. The Platinum card offers the longest term.

  • Your credit score: Your credit score will largely determine what card you're able to quality for. These cards below are generally for those with good to excellent credit.

Did you know: Cellular Telephone Protection reimburses up to $600 per claim ($1,200 per 12-month period) for damaged or stolen cell phones. You must pay your cell phone bills with your eligible Wells Fargo consumer credit card to receive this benefit.

Wells Fargo Credit Card Offers for New Applicants

New Application: Before you apply for a new Wells Fargo card, here are some things you need to know.

  • If you opened a Wells Fargo card in the past 15 months, you may not be eligible for the sign-up bonus and intro APR rate on another card.

  • If you opened a Wells Fargo credit card in the past 6 months, you may not qualify for another Wells Fargo card.

Now let's go deeper into each Wells Fargo card.

Earn Cash Back: Wells Fargo Cash Wise

Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa offers generous rewards for a no-annual-fee card.

You get $200 cash bonus if you spend $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. All purchases earn 1.5% cash back with no cap.

And for the first 12 months, if you make purchases on a qualified mobile wallet (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Android Pay), you earn an additional 20% bonus. This means you can earn up to 1.8% cash back the first year.

You can redeem your cash rewards right at the ATM. So you can literally see your rewards in the form of cold, hard cash.

It also has a 0% intro APR on new purchases and balance transfers for 12 months. After that, the APR is 14.74% - 26.74% (Variable).

Balance Transfer: Wells Fargo Platinum

If you have existing debt from another credit card, a balance transfer can give you time to pay it while getting a break on interest.

Wells Fargo Platinum will give you the most time to pay off debt. It offers 0% APR for 18 months on purchases and balance transfers. After that, the variable APR is 16.9% - 26.74% (Variable).

However, there is a balance transfer fee of 3% for the first 18 months (with a $5 minimum). After that, it goes to 5% for each transfer (with a $5 minimum). This could make the transfer very costly if you have a large amount to transfer. But if you need a long time to pay off the debt, the money you save in interest could be well worth the transfer fee.
