Big, Beautiful and Busy National Parks
The Great Smoky Mountains top the list at 9.5 million annual visitors, followed by the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Rocky Mountain.
With the epic views also comes the bustling crowds, especially during peak season. However, at some of the parks, the crowds are spread out while enough so that you might not realize you’re in one of the top 10 most busy national parks.
Happy Campers
Yosemite, Yellowstone and Grand Canyon tops the list with the most campers per year. All 3 tally over 1 million overnight stays each year.
Beachcombers
Are you looking to enjoy the sun and surf? The U.S. National Park Service has designated miles and miles of coastline as protected national seashores including Cape Cod, Gulf Islands and Cape Hatteras.
History Buffs
Millions of visitors visit the George Washington Memorial Parkway, Lincoln Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial each year. National historical parks, memorials and monuments provide insights into the nation’s past.
