I currently hold a Starwood Preferred Guest American Express credit card. I find this card is very useful for someone who travels a lot. Every purchase you make, each dollar gives you a point. When you amass enough points you can use them on hotel rooms. Although some of these rooms are in the thousand point range I think that perk alone makes the card stand out from others.

I also like the American Express card because it is accepted almost anywhere that I have gone. I hardly run into a place where I have to use cash or another card because a lot of places take American Express. This is extremely helpful because it limits the amount of credit cards you have to carry around. Not to mention if you ever do lose the card or a purchase comes up that you did not make the customer service is amazing. I had a problem once and the American Express customer service was able to solve the problem easier than the company that the purchase came from.
