5 Ways to Improve Your Quality of Life and Save Money

Read more about Cheap Credit Cards

Many of us think that cutting back means squashing our way of life. However, this doesn’t have to be the case! In fact, there are a number of things you can do today that will help both your financial bottom line AND your quality of life!

Walk

  • Skip the drive thru – Yes, it is really quite convenient to cruise through the drive thru on your way to work, on your way home from work, or in between appointments. However, in truth, fast food is expensive and terrible for your health. Skipping the drive thru and eating either before you go to work or when you get home will not only be better for your waistline, but your credit card statement as well! If you love your drive thru, make it a weekly treat, not a daily one, and find healthier alternatives to your standard hamburger and French fries.

  • Pack your lunch – Eating out every day is the downfall for many people, in a number of ways. Not only do we tend to overeat when we are sitting at a restaurant table with friends, but it can also add up quickly on our credit card statement. Packing your lunch even a few times a week will save you a considerable amount of money – and it will also allow you to better keep track of what you’re eating.

  • Ditch the car and walk – With gas prices reaching all-time highs, now may be the best time to consider parking the car and walking instead. If you are lucky enough to live near public transportation, you can easily eliminate a large portion of your monthly vehicle costs by choosing public transportation. Even simple changes, like walking instead of driving to the corner store to pick up a gallon of milk or walking a few blocks to visit a friend, can make a huge dent in your gasoline expenses. Plus, let’s not forget the many benefits of getting outside and walking! Your body and your mind will thank you for the opportunity to get some more exercise throughout the week.

  • Cancel cable television – Cable television seems to go up in cost every time we look at the bill. Simply canceling the cable television and getting up off the couch will benefit both your body and your wallet! You can easily save $100 a month by saying goodbye to cable TV. If you have a favorite show you love to watch, consider catching it online for free, as Hulu and most TV stations air all of the popular programs.

  • See your doctor – Visiting your doctor regularly will both save you money and improve your quality of life. Seeing your doctor can prevent or manage illness and protect your health, thereby saving you money from future healthcare expenses and improving your overall mental and physical health, which can most certainly improve your quality of life!
It is very easy to save money and enjoy a better quality of life. Why not start today?
