Bottom Line

Great card for travelers looking to earn hotel rewards without paying an annual fee

The bonus program of this card makes it easy to earn rewards while travelling or while staying at home. Best of all, this card has no annual fee.

Bonus Program

The Citi Hilton HHonors Visa earns bonus points on all your purchases. You earn 6 points for every dollar spent at Hilton hotels, 3 points for every dollar spent at gas stations, drugstores, and supermarkets, and 2 points for every dollar spent on all other purchases. These points can be redeemed for free hotel nights. Hilton ranks its hotels in categories. Higher categories are more expensive.

One free night at a Category 1 property costs 7,500 points while one free night at a Category 7 hotel costs 50,000 points. You can also redeem your bonus points for airline miles, car rentals, and other travel rewards through Hilton’s Experience Rewards program.

Signup Bonus

This card offers a signup bonus for new cardholders.

After you make $1,000 worth of purchases on this card in its first 4 months, you receive 40,000 bonus points. This is enough for 5 free nights at a Category 1 Hilton hotel.

HHonors Status

Every year you hold the Citi Hilton HHonors Visa, you automatically earn HHonors Silver Status at Hilton hotels.

To earn this status without the card, you would need to spend either 10 nights or 4 stays at Hilton hotels during a calendar year.

This status gives you a number of benefits including early check in, late checkout, and free access to Hilton fitness centers during your stays. Since you earn this status automatically, you enjoy these benefits during all your visits to Hilton hotels throughout the year.

Pros:

  • Earns extra points on purchases at Hilton hotels, gas stations, drugstores, and supermarkets.
  • Points can be redeemed for free hotel nights, converted to airline miles, or spent on other travel rewards.
  • Earn 40,000 bonus points after you make $1,000 worth of purchases on this card in the first 4 months as a signup bonus.
  • Automatically gives HHonors Silver status.
  • No annual fee.

Cons:

  • No introductory APR.
  • Card must be used at least once per year or the account will be closed.

Bottom Line:

This is a great card for consumers looking to earn hotel rewards without paying an annual fee.
