Hilton HHonors Platinum Credit Card Review


While many cards are focused exclusively on flights, some card users would prefer hotel rewards. With the Hilton HHonors Platinum credit card from American Express, card members can apply their travel rewards points to any Hilton family property. With the ability to maximize your vacation time with minimum costs, card members can enjoy more vacations, more often.

The Hilton HHonors Platinum card also gives members the ability to plan a trip when you want by having no limit on rewards points accrual and no blackout dates for reward stays.

How the Card Works

Many rewards cards come with high annual fees and limited use opportunities for the rewards. The Hilton HHonors Platinum credit card is a no-fee card that still provides buyers security and extensive flexibility of payments provided to American Express customers. Card users can also take advantage of 3,000 Hilton family hotels with virtually zero blackout dates for rewards points stays. Airlines miles can even be earned at the same time of your hotel stay. The focus of the card is to provide users the most points for their spending, ultimately rewarding card members with high quality Hilton hotel stays.

Earning Hilton HHonors Bonus Points

American Express offers many different ways to accrue points. Just for making the very first initial purchase on the Hilton HHonors Platinum card, members will earn 10,000 bonus points. For every $1.00 spent, card members will earn 3 bonus points except for purchases that qualify for other card programs such as the Everyday Spend Accelerator where even greater point benefits can be received. The Hilton HHonors Platinum cards provides card user with the Everyday Spend Accelerator program, where all general purchases made at locations such as post offices, restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores, can earn 5 Hilton HHonors bonus points for every $1 spent. This program significantly increases the Hilton HHonors bonus points accumulation rate.

Special Hilton Family Hotels Partnership

By booking your hotel stays with your Hilton HHonors Platinum card, card members can also earn 2,500 bonus points per stay. By simply being a card member, you can take advantage of Silver VIP status at any of the many Hilton Family hotel properties. Card members with Silver VIP status also receive a discount of 15% on all Hilton HHonors base points earned during Hilton hotel stays. Exclusive hotel check-in benefits and health club privileges are also extended to Silver VIP members.

Hilton also offers a program in conjunction with American Express that can upgrade card members to Gold VIP status when $20,000 or more is spent on eligible purchases during a single calendar year. Gold VIP status entitles members to a 25% bonus on all Hilton HHonors base points earned during a Hilton family hotel stay along with complimentary features such as free breakfast and upgraded accommodations.

The Hilton HHonors Platinum American Express card has multiple benefits for card users looking to get the most for their money by earning bonus rewards in the process. The flexibility and upgrade opportunities with the Hilton HHonors cards makes it one of the most versatile cards on the market.
