From business cards to wedding invitations, Vistaprint is a leading source for personalized printing known for its low prices. Use the tips below to save even more money on a customized product and stay well within your budget.

How to Save at Vistaprint

  • Earn and use Vistaprint Cash. Throughout the year, Vistaprint offers promotions to earn Vistaprint Cash, typically $10 for every $40 spent. After the earning period, there is a 2-week period to redeem the cash, which is waiting in your account at checkout. Vistaprint Cash is considered a payment method, meaning you can still use a coupon code and apply the “cash” to your order.

  • Refer a friend. Send an email to a friend through the Vistaprint website to give them a $10 off coupon. Once your friend makes a purchase, you’ll get $10 off as well.

  • Sign up for emails. Vistaprint is really loyal to email subscribers and frequently sends exclusive sales and discounts. Deals from email, such as free products or a discount on your entire order, are generally not considered coupon codes and can be combined with a code for a larger discount. You have to click the discount link in the email to have it applied to your account.

  • Use a coupon code. Vistaprint always has a huge number of coupon codes available, ranging from discounts on individual products to free shipping and a percentage off your total purchase. View a list of current coupon codes here, but note that only one code can be used per transaction, so be sure to use the code that saves you the most money.

  • Buy in bulk. Like other printing services, the price per unit drops when you purchase a larger quantity. For example, business cards are 26 cents each when you buy 100, but the price drops to 13 cents each when you buy 250. Be realistic about how many you really need; having to make a second order after 6 months will cost you more in the long run.

  • Bundle products. Shipping is a flat rate based on the total cost of your order after coupon codes have been applied. The more you spend, the more expensive the shipping will be. However, it is cheaper to ship one $40 order ($13.99 standard shipping) than to ship two $20 orders ($9.99 standard shipping per order). If you know you will be ordering a lot of items from Vistaprint, order them at one time to minimize multiple shipping costs. And keep in mind that Vistaprint frequently offers coupon codes for free shipping on orders of $50 or more.

  • Be patient. If you plan on placing a big order, get everything ready and wait for a good coupon code. Vistaprint frequently offers 40% off a certain product type, so wait for a few weeks until your product comes around.

  • Use Groupon. Vistaprint occasionally posts on daily deal sites with a discounted voucher, such as a $70 voucher for $55. Pair it with a coupon code at checkout to make the price break go even further.

When to Shop at Vistaprint

  • Semi-annual sale. Every January and July, Vistaprint holds its biggest sales of the year, with the entire site up to 50% off and free shipping. If possible, save your orders until the semi-annual sale to save as much money as possible.

  • November and December. Vistaprint puts its popular holiday cards on sale between early November and mid-December. Pair the sale with a coupon code to save big on holiday cards.

  • Pre-wedding season. The most popular wedding months are June and September, so Vistaprint holds large invitation and wedding stationery sales a few months earlier, typically around February and May.

What to Buy at Vistaprint

  • Business cards. Vistaprint is known for its business cards, and for good reason. With a variety of templates, styles, and paper options, you can customize and get a personalized business card for a great price. Use a coupon code and order during a sale for even deeper discounts. (If you’re self-employed, hold onto the receipt; your purchase of business cards could be tax deductible.)

  • Holiday cards. Although not as high quality as other card printing services, Vistaprint offers some of the cheapest holiday cards, especially when paired with a coupon code. Browse the selection and personalize the cards to match your style. Vistaprint will also mail the cards for you for an additional fee.

  • Address labels. Vistaprint’s address labels are some of the cheapest around and are frequently included as a free product. They come in a variety of styles, including ones that could match the design of your business card.

What Not to Buy at Vistaprint

  • Website hosting. Vistaprint offers a free month of web hosting, but then starts charging you an average of $12 per month. Compared to similar services, Vistaprint’s web design is very basic and clunky. There are many other services that allow you to design and host a website for much cheaper or even free.

  • Shirts. The custom printed T-shirts from Vistaprint tend to be much lower quality than competitors’ products. Depending on your purpose, it could be worth spending a few dollars more to get much better quality elsewhere.
