While Monoprice is known for having some of the lowest base prices among the competition in the technology accessories space, there are other ways to save even more. Use these tips and tricks to make sure you get the best price possible.

How to Get the Best Deals at Monoprice

  • Shop the daily deal. Most days, Monoprice posts an exclusive one-day-only sale on a certain item on its social media channels. The deal is typically for an additional 15-30% off the product, bringing the percentage off retail up to 70% on some products.

  • Sign up for emails. Monoprice email subscribers get special promotions and exclusive sales.

  • Order on Amazon. In addition to its website, Monoprice also sells much of its inventory through Amazon.com, where most items come with free shipping. Although the Amazon list prices are higher than buying through Monoprice.com, once shipping is factored in, Amazon can end up being slightly less expensive. Note that bulk discounts don’t apply to Amazon orders.

  • Separate orders. Monoprice shipping costs are dependent on the size and value of the items, as well as the shipping distance. In many cases, it can be cheaper to separate small items, such as cords and cables, into individual orders to have cheaper overall shipping fees. For larger orders, bundle items together to take advantage of free shipping for orders of $75 or more.

  • Follow on social media. Follow Monoprice on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to learn about new products, sales, and daily deals.

  • Use a coupon code. Monoprice regularly has coupon codes available, typically for a percentage off your total purchase.

  • Buy in bulk. Monoprice offers discounts for ordering large quantities of the same product. Discounts vary by product but are easy to compute with the “volume pricing” button by each product. For example, a single USB cable costs $5.43, but the price per unit lowers to $5.20 when ordering 20 cables and $5.12 when ordering 50.

  • Return carefully. Monoprice accepts returns on all items within 30 days of purchase, but you’ll have to pay the return shipping fees.

When to Shop at Monoprice

  • Weekends. Monoprice regularly releases weekend-only coupons that typically run Friday-Sunday and include a percentage off your order. Monoprice regularly offers a weekend deal, featuring a sale of around 20% off a certain type of item.

  • After Christmas. The Monoprice winter sale starts the day after Christmas and runs through early January. During the sale, items are up to 85% off.

  • Mid-August. One of Monoprice’s biggest sales is the back-to-school sale, where almost all items are marked up to 35% off, and daily doorbuster deals, with even deeper discounts. The best deals can be found on school necessities, such as computers, printers, and ink.

What to Buy at Monoprice

  • Cords and cables. Monoprice started out as just a cord and cable site, and those items are still some of its most popular and least expensive. HDMI cables, connectors, and any other kind of cord can rarely be found cheaper anywhere else.

  • Headphones. Monoprice has a great selection of low-price, high-quality headphones in all types of styles. One of the most popular versions is the Enhanced Bass Noise Isolating earbuds for under $8.

  • Phone cases and accessories. With an already huge selection of phone cases, cords, and accessories for all models, Monoprice also quickly offers new models as they become available.

  • Ink and toner. Monoprice has a large selection of ink and toner for every type of printer. The prices are much lower than what you would find at other stores. Note that most ink and toners cartridges are remanufactured but still tend to be great quality.

What Not to Buy at Monoprice

  • Game controllers. Monoprice sells controllers for a number of popular gaming consoles, but the quality tends to be poor, and the products often have sticky buttons.

  • Electric guitars. One of the more surprising items in Monoprice’s catalog, its electric guitars have great prices but are not very high quality.
