Tips and Tricks to Save Money at Advance Auto Parts
- Take advantage of in-store pickup. Don’t worry if your purchase is under the $75 minimum for free shipping. Most products can be shipped to your local store for free; if they’re already in stock, you can pick them up within 30 minutes.
- Join the Advance ProRewards Program. Sign up for the store’s rewards program and start earning points with every purchase you make. Then redeem your points for rewards from brands like Moog, Dorman, Wearever and more, plus AAP gift cards.
- Search for coupons and promo codes. Advance Auto Parts has a strong online presence, with plenty of coupons available for use both in-store and on the web. Frequent promotions include $40 off purchases of $100 or more, 30% off $50, or 20% off your entire purchase. Just make sure you choose the best deal for your purchase amount because most codes cannot be stacked.
- Shop online. While you can use many coupons in the store, AAP offers extra incentives for shopping on their website. If you’re a frequent shopper, you’ll appreciate savings like 15% off your purchase plus a $25 coupon with a purchase of $50 or more.
- Have a strong online presence? Become an affiliate. For businesses, bloggers or anyone else with plenty of followers online who are interested in cars, you can apply to become an affiliate and earn up to 8% commission on any purchases brought in through your website.
Best Things to Buy at Advanced Auto Parts
- Batteries. Use a coupon to get your battery at Advanced Auto Parts and you’ll not only save a few bucks, you’ll get free installation. Recycle your old battery while you’re there and receive a $5 gift card. You can also get free checkups on your battery, starter, and alternator.
- Windshield wipers. Similar to car batteries, AAP offers free installation with windshield wipers as well. This perk will help save you time and money.
- Loaner tools. Rather than purchasing an expensive tool for a one-time repair, try AAP’s loaner tool program. You’ll pay full price upfront for a new or gently used item, with 90 days to use it. Once you’re finished with your project, return the tool kit for a full refund.
- Rebate items. Always check the rebates page before making a purchase. You can usually find $5 to $10 rebates on dozens of items including oil, antifreeze, scratch kits, and more. Just make sure you keep your receipt to send in with the rebate form.
What Not to Buy at Advanced Auto Parts
- Expensive car parts (sometimes). This is not a 100% guarantee, but websites like eBay and Car-Part.com often have better prices on both new and remanufactured car parts. Always check the seller’s ratings and be sure to include shipping costs when comparing prices. You’ll also want to double-check the part before clicking to purchase.
- Leather cleaner. Products like Lexol Leather Cleaner and Conditioner go for a premium at Advance Auto Parts, so instead try online retailers like Amazon. You’ll get twice as much product for a few dollars less than the AAP price, and can also use the Subscribe and Save program for an extra 15% off.
