Rewards Program

The Citi Forward Card earns reward points on everything you buy. You earn 1 point for every $1 in purchases.

This card also gives bonus cash back for entertainment categories like restaurants, books, movies, and music. You earn 5 points for every $1 spent in these categories. This bonus lets you quickly build up points.

You can redeem your points for cash back or gift cards at popular retailers.

Sign-up Bonus

The Citi Forward Card offers a nice sign-up bonus to attract new cardholders. When you first get your card, you are eligible for a sizeable point bonus. If you spend $650 on your card and sign up for paperless statements within the first 3 months, you receive 10,000 bonus points. This is enough for $100 in gift cards. You receive these points in addition to your regular rewards.

This card also has a 0% introductory rate for the first 7 months on new purchases and the first 12 months on balance transfers. The introductory rate gives you more time to pay off your balance and avoid interest.

Lastly, this card does not charge an annual fee, so you can start earning cash back without paying an upfront expense.

Responsible Card Management

If you are a responsible cardholder and always pay off your Citi Forward Card on time, Citi will reward you with extra bonuses. You receive an extra 100 point bonus for every month that you pay your card payment on time and remain below your credit limit. This nets you up to 1,200 bonus points per year just for being responsible.

In addition, Citi will lower your card’s interest rate if you use your card responsibly. Every 3-month period of timely payment earns you a 0.25% reduction of your APR. The maximum reduction is 2%. This reduction of your APR can lead to much lower interest payments. If you are a new cardholder, these incentives can help encourage you to maintain good credit habits.

  • 10,000 bonus point offer—enough for a $100 gift card reward
