Travel Rewards

The Blue Sky credit card earns points on nearly everything you buy. You don’t have to worry about special bonus categories, as every purchase earns the same rate. You earn 1 point for virtually every $1 in purchases.

Once you collect 7,500 points, you can redeem your points for a $100 statement credit toward travel expenses. This credit can be used to offset the cost of airfare, hotel stays, car rentals, and selected other travel expenses. This is not a cash back program and the rewards must be used to offset travel charges on your account statement.

Benefits: Flexible Travel Booking

Many rewards cards generate points that can only be used for a specific company – usually an airline or hotel chain. The Blue Sky card from American Express let's you redeem points toward any airline, hotel stay and car rental. You don’t have to use a specific company-sponsored travel agent or any particular company to redeem your points. The only requirement for using your bonus points is that you must use them to offset travel costs.

Pros

  • Earns points toward travel rewards on virtually all purchases: 1 point for every $1 in purchases
  • 7,500 bonus points after you spend $1,000 within first 3 months
  • Returns a $100 travel credit for every 7,500 points earned
  • Flexible booking program: no restrictions on travel purchases for the bonus program
  • No annual fee
  • 0% introductory APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 15 months. After that, a variable rate, currently 17.24% - 22.24%
