An Extended Warranty plan further protects card member purchases. This program extends an original U.S. manufacturer’s warranty for up to an additional year for all eligible purchases on products that have an existing warranty of five years or less. Coverage limits do exist, but unlike some programs, the benefit is actually the same as the amount originally charged to your card or $10,000, whichever is less. Often similar programs will only reimburse members the current value of the item which is often far less than a new purchase price.
