Clear from American Express Credit Card Review

The Clear card from American Express is just that- clear- of absolutely all fees. This exceptional card is free of many of the charges that rack up on most leading credit cards and still offers a rewards program, low introductory rate as well as fixed annual percentage rates and all this while offering the flexibility to pay over time. The Clear card is a great option, especially for new card users who may not be accustomed to all the requirements of managing a credit card because it simply comes without all the fees that can negatively impact a card user.

Fees that are Free and Clear

The Clear card provides some of the most flexible terms of any available credit card. For example, most cards have an over the limit fee starting around $35.00, even for first time occurrences. This fee is completely eliminated with the Clear card. Some cards also issue fees for transactions such as balance transfers or cash advances. The Clear card does not charge users any additional costs for either transaction type. Even pricey late fees that can be $30.00 or more are not issued for Clear card holders.

Many new card users are shocked or frustrated to be near their credit limit, to be late with their payment and charged a late fee that now puts them over their credit limit which now incurs an over the limit charge. Suddenly forgetting to press send online or to stick the bill in the mail has turned in to $70.00 or more in charges. But not with the Clear card from American Express.

Introductory Rates, Rewards and Benefits

Even an experienced card user would expect high annual feels and no additional rewards for a card with so few penalty fees. But the Clear card has no annual fees along with a 0% introductory annual percentage rate for up to 12 months. Additionally, card members will benefit from a low 3.99% annual fixed APR on balance transfers during the first 12 months. Card users can also benefit from the Clear card’s automatic rewards program. This simple and easy to use program is great for inexperienced or busy card holders who do not want to manage points programs with complex rules and multiple restrictions. The automatic rewards program issues card users with a $25.00 American Express shopping card for each $2500 interval of spending reach with the Clear card.

Another great benefit of the Clear card is the complimentary credit report. This is a great value to new credit users in order to maintain tabs on how credit use is impacting your overall credit score. The complimentary report provides detailed explanations of the data on the report and even advice on improving your credit score. This report is particularly convenient because it is truly complimentary. Many reports available through credit resources actually charge a fee or have difficult to interpret fine print. With the Clear card, you are assured of an annual free report with no additional charges. The Clear card is simply an excellent value for new or even experienced credit users.
